Noise Ordinance

At the request of the moderator, here is the Jefferson County Noise Ordinance as it pertains to the residents and enforcement by the Sheriff Department:

The noise must be at least 65 decibels or greater for a minimum of 30 minutes and affect (ie receive a call from) at minimum three (3) residences. At the current time, the department DOES NOT have decibel meters/readers available to measure the noise level.

Barking dogs while a potential nusance will probably not meet the requirement for violation of the noise ordinance.

I have a horrid nebr that is making all of us around them a living hell, the dog goes non-stop for hours and hours and hours.

The gal yells to us, "Ha, there is nothing you can do because there is no law!!!"

The great animal control said that Martinsburg has a great law, and we need to get it passed here.
