The Monster in Our Midst
My name is Tik, crank, crystal meth or methamphetamine. I am here NOW and am here to stay.
Despite efforts by Federal and State Governments to control availability of ingredients (notably, ephedrine) and the nationwide crackdown on manufacturing by Law Enforcement, small "kitchen labs" and larger operations continue to make their appearance known. In addition, large quantities of finished product and manufacturing ingredients are being smuggled into the country through our southern borders. Quick profit, captive consumers and increasing demand are the economic drivers of this criminal enterprise.
SSP Responder Dave received some compelling information from a friend in the far western part of our state. He states: "Definitely worth your time......warning....it is somewhat graphic in terms of visual images... but sheds a lot of light on a problem often misunderstood."
A nicely done PowerPoint Presentation is attached.
It is graphic and I would rate it as PG-12 or 13. It could serve as a powerful deterrent, especially if viewed with your teens and discussed afterward. This is important since Tik states: "Try me once and you MIGHT get away; try me twice and I'm with you to stay."
