Can I be the only one noticing the Crime Map Locations...
Posted August 17th, 2007 by Robin
Everytime I log onto WatchJeffCo, I look closely at the map displayed on the front page.
Has anyone else other than myself noticed the amount of reported crimes here on the eastern side of the 'Doah? Are we any closer to getting the Police Substation on this side of the river?
What plans, if any, are being implemented to stop the items listed time after time?

Crimes vs. Reports
Hi Robin,
I believe the incidents you are referring to are the Neighborhood Watch reports - shown as circles on the map. It is true that there are many more east of the river. However, the incidence of reports east of the river is in proportion to our membership distribution. Many of our members are from the Shannondale area. We are actively trying to engage the rest of the county as well as do have a fair number of members (and growing) from other communities.
To get a good idea of the distribution of actual 'crime' - incidents reported to the sheriff's office - uncheck the 'Watch Reports' box (upper left on the map search form) and update the map.
Thanks!
