Since one-third of Jefferson County's population lives on The Mountain, what is being done to increase area patrolling by Sheriff's Deputies on a more regular basis? It seems that most LE presence up here is reactive rather than pro-active, and is done in response to incidents dispatched by Jefferson County Headquarters.

New Sheriff's Substation near Blue Ridge Elementary
Could you please tell us when the "Grand Opening" of the new substation is being held. We hear that there are plans for this to happen soon, but we haven't had a date confirmed. Will the substation be manned full time (thereby making response times to incidents on the mountain much faster), or, if not, what are the staffing plans?
