Suspicious solicitation

I live on Mission Rd past the Gate 3 mailboxes and had a older teenager come knock on my door, asking if I was the owner or renter. He said he lived by the lake and was looking to earn some money cleaning gutters.

He and a friend drove up in a deep blue Chevy Cobalt. I seriously doubt that he was actually looking for work, more like trying to assess the house. Hate to not trust my fellow humans, but this smelled fishy to me. Just wanted to alert everyone.

Multiple Complaints

SSP and JCSD have had multiple reports of this individual over the past 2 days. Everyone who has had contact with this individual has been highly suspicious of his intent. He has claimed to be homeless and camping near the lake. Another story related was that he was on "break" and needing money to return to college next week. One homeowner had the distinct impression that he had been watching her house.

Please notify SSP and JCSD if you spot where this person is "camping" or if you have contact with him.

Suspicious solicitation

A young man approached me at my house on Lower Clubhouse Dr. on Sat. 4/5 asking if I needed any yard work or gutter cleaning done. He stated that he attended JMU and was home from collage for a week, was bored and wanted to make a few dollars while home. He told me that he lived next to the long bright yellow house on Lakeside Dr. at the east end of the lake. He was on foot and wasn’t using a car at the time. I watched him walk over to other neighbors’ houses after he left mine. Seemed like an honest fellow looking for a little work, but since I didn’t have anything for him to do at the time, I asked him to give me his name and phone number in case I decided I to hire him later. You may contact me through this site if that information becomes needed.
