Round Hill Incident - 5-13-08
Loudoun County, Virginia- A Round Hill woman was taken into custody Tuesday morning after she brought three firearms to a Western Loudoun elementary school.
The Loudoun Sheriff’s Office responded to Round Hill Elementary School on Evening Star Drive shortly before 9:30 AM for a report of a female who was acting erratically. A Loudoun School Resource Deputy arrived at the school and discovered the woman had three loaded weapons concealed inside her purse.
The weapons were never brandished by the woman nor did she mention she brought firearms into the school to personnel at Round Hill Elementary.
After a mental evaluation the 45-year-old woman was committed to the Cornwall Campus of Loudoun Hospital on a temporary detention order.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney are reviewing the case and charges are pending.

Round Hill Update - 5-20-08
Loudoun County, Virginia- A Round Hill woman who brought three firearms in her purse into a Western Loudoun elementary school was charged Tuesday with possession of a firearm on school property.
The woman, Kim M. Fritz, 45, was taken into custody by Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies last week and was being held on a temporary detention order.
Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Round Hill Elementary School on Evening Star Drive around 9:30 AM last Tuesday after they received a report of a female who was irrational and upset. Prior to the arrival of the deputies the purse had been locked in an office by Assistant Principal Kirsten O'Hara shortly after Fritz entered the building and expressed concern about the purse being on her person. Loudoun Sheriff’s School Resource Deputies arrived at the school and the woman disclosed she had three loaded weapons concealed inside her purse. The deputies then went into the locked office and retrieved the bag to secure the weapons. At no time did students or school staff see the weapons.
A Loudoun County Magistrate released Fritz on a personal recognizance bond. The charge, possession of a firearm on school property (§ 18.2-308.1), is a Class 6 felony.
