Neighborhood Watch Training Session
Posted January 10th, 2006 by nwatch2
The initial training session to reorganize the Neighborhood Watch Program in Shannondale will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 1:00 PM at the Community Center at the end of Mission Road, next to the Fire Station and across from the Church. Am requesting a few able bodied volunteers to help set up the chairs and a few tables prior to the meeting and put them away after the meeting. There will be no refreshments served, so bring your own non-alcoholic beverages. I am also asking for everyone attending to make a small donation to the Community Center to help defray the cost of heating the room, as they are not charging us to use the Center. The sign-up page is here.

Neighborhhood Watch Training Session
The Neighborhood Watch training session is open to anyone living on the mountain, not just in Shannondale. We hope to make the mountain a better place for everyone.
Jan 28 meeting
Thanks for a very informative meeting. I believe this is the beginning of something good for this community.
Thanks To All - We Are Just Beginning
Thanks to everyone who attended the meeting - official count 63 - not bad considering we did not advertise. Thanks to Art, SSP, Sheriff and the community members that participated.
We are just beginning...we have a lot more work to do. Barbara and I are committed to the cause and with the help of all our Mountain Neighbors we will make our communities safer.
Thanks again...we will post meeting summary notes and additional info as time permits and will schedule our first focused training session for Feb. So watch this space.

Devious Measures!
What a sneaky way to get folks back to church! The 1st Meeting was a resounding success, despite a glitch that kept us out of the Community Center. Barb and Carla did an outstanding job of planning and orchestrating the event, and didn't even miss a beat in moving us to the Church at the last minute.
Sheriff Boober made an outstanding presentation to get the group started in the right direction. Art then presented his original work on a state-of-the-art Interactive Forum which permits real-time recording, reporting and alerts of criminal activity throughout the County. The built-in site capabilities will also provide for other emergency alerts as needed. Nat Hughes, our SSP Chief, offered further support and encouragement for this massive project.
For many of us, names and faces were put together for the first time. I look forward to our continued networking to enhance the safety and security of Our Mountain. Thanks to all who attended!
